𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧

(FTD, St. Louis)

Jack Flaherty put together one of the greatest individual pitching years in Cardinals franchise history. The 24-year-old Flaherty put the pitching staff on his back and led the team to a division championship and playoff birth. His 19 wins, 2.98 ERA, and 251 Strikeouts led the National League.

This is the first winner of the rare honor since both Justin Verlander & Clayton Kershaw accomplished the feat in 2011. Flaherty has quickly become the face of the franchise in just his third full season. "I just go out there and lead by example. I won't back down from anyone and I hope my teammates follow. You can't be afraid to fail in this game." said Flaherty.
