Starting Pitcher Jack Flaherty, and Centerfielder Harrison Bader has been named to the National League All-Star team. These two were the main reason that the Cardinals enter the midseason break with a first-place lead in the division. It will be the first All-Star trip for both players.
Flaherty has been the rock in the rotation with his 10-6 (2.99 ERA) record. His 144 Strikeouts and 3.6 WAR leads the pitching staff. Bader has given the team an elite glove that has saved countless runs. He's also providing capable with the bat as well. The talented outfielder enters the break with a team-high 3.7 WAR.
"These guys deserved this honor. We without a doubt wouldn't be in this position if these guys weren't playing at this high level. They've been so valuable to this team. I'm proud of them." said GM Jonathan Ferguson.
