One of the favorites within the organization is returning. Cafe Martinez was moved in a deal with Tampa Bay after last season. He played in just 9 games and only collected 16 at-bats before the Cardinals GM Jonathan Ferguson made the call. "I've always loved the moxie of this dude. He brings so many elements to a clubhouse that just can't be quantified. I understood the move from the previous management, but when I brought the idea to Mike (Shildt) his eyes lit up." The bat is obviously the main attribute of Martinez. "He just hits," said Ferguson. Well, that's something that this team will need for him to come back and do.
