The Cardinals and the 2020 1st Round Draft pick were able to finalize the deal. It's been reported that his bonus demand was around six to seven million dollars. PCA is regarded by some within the organization as a prospect that has all the needed tools to be premier.
St. Louis General Manager Jonathan Ferguson echoed that sentiment. "We love the kid. His bonus was more elevated than we initially expected. It still didn't cause us any pause. We wanted Pete to be a Cardinal. It was getting done. He's a guy that has all the ability to be a fun player for a lot of years. The Cardinals got better today."
