The Cardinals new management made their first official move of the 2020 calendar. Hanser Alberto 27, was acquired from Baltimore for two prospects (3B Malcom Nunez/RF Jhon Torres). Alberto, coming off a season in which he hit .305 in 524 at-bats. On a team that struggled in 2019 he was able to rank top five in hits, runs, doubles, OBP, Slugging, and WAR. "We loved his versatility, speed, and ability to put the ball into play. Those three traits will blend with our current roster nicely." said the Cardinals GM.
