(FTD, St. Louis)

July 1, 2020 The smoke could be seen as the rumors were getting out involving Matt Carpenter. In a few days that smoke had turned into all-out flames. One of the organizations' most favorite players has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Carpenter 34, has been involved with so many wonderful moments in Cardinals history. He's produced over 1,000 hits, 150 Home runs, and 500 Runs batted in. However, it was those clutch postseason swings that can't be measured. "Carp is the ultimate professional. This deal was one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make in my career. He has been a focal piece to this team and city for a long time. It was something that kept me up late at night pondering. If I'm being perfectly honest he's one of my personal favorites. These are the moves that will take a piece of you with it." said General Manager Jonathan Ferguson. More coming soon...
