The Cardinals have become the top Minor League system in all of baseball. They currently have five players in the Top-100. This includes the recently named overall #1 prospect OF Pete Crow-Armstrong. Followed by C Ivan Herrera, 3B Nolan Gorman, SP's Matthew Liberatore and Tanner Burns.
"We think we've been able to significantly bolster our farm system in our short time here. It was a major priority when we took the job. Obviously, winning at the Major League level is the ultimate mission. However, we definetly think these two things will play off each other".
Some of the other names that have those inside the organization include SS Wenceel Perez, CF Jeren Kendall, OF Tyree Reed, and 2B Nick Loftin. The direction of the organization has shifted after the disastrous 2021 season. The Cardinals went from first to worst inside their division.
"It was a real gut punch. The perfect storm of garbage hit all at once. Whatever could go wrong, did go wrong. It was a humbling experience. We had to step back and reevaluate everything. It without question has started a major shift."
