Crow-Armstrong heading to the Show
(FTD, St. Louis)
The buzz around St. Louis has picked up as their prized prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong is being called up from the minors.
PCA was selected in the 1st Round in 2020
Pete Crow-Armstrong better known as "PCA" will make his major league debut tomorrow night in Colorado. The team is currently in a three game series with the Rockies. PCA, the once #1 prospect in all of baseball will get a crack at full-time duties at Center Field for the Cardinals. It's something that GM Jonathan Ferguson has foreseen since the day he was drafted with the 21st pick. "When we saw him sliding in round one we were just a nervous wreck hoping he'd fall to us. I remember submitting the pick in record time. We feel he's a guy that guy lead our organization" said Ferguson.
The Cardinals had hoped to see if they could let him spend the year at Memphis (AAA), but his incredible season blended with the struggles for St. Louis has forced the clock to speed up. "We wanted to this day to come a bit later. However, we're in a position that we need a spark and have a bunch of dudes in our clubhouse that want to win. We don't play for next year at this place. We want to win championships" said Ferguson.
For PCA this has been a dream for him since he was a kid. "I cried when they told me yesterday. This has been my dream since I was like 6 years old. When this organization drafted me, I told them they wouldn't regret it. I can't wait to get there with the guys. We're going to make some noise" said Crow-Armstrong.
Crow-Armstrong during his minor league career he put together .300, .390 OBP, .875 OPS, and 18.8 Total WAR. His accolades includes winning Player of the Year, All-Star trips, and a batting title to name a few.
