During a recent St. Louis-Washington game at Nationals Park, Paul DeJong of the Cardinals and Steven Okert of the Nationals got into an altercation on the field and had to be separated from each other as the benches emptied. Both players knew they would have to face the music and today the league commissioner's office announced their punishments. They have been given 4-game suspensions because of their actions. This year DeJong has hit at a .258 pace and produced 11 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 8 runs.

RF Dylan Carlson will miss 4 weeks with a Hamstring strain. The rookie leads the team in Home Runs during the 2021 season. The Cardinals will lean more on Kolten Wong and Tyler O'Neill to help fill the void.
