Cardinals move on from Michael Girsch

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced the termination of Assistant General Manager Michael Girsch contract. Girsch was signed through the 2024 season.


Mike Shildt is headed to the Front Office Mike Shildt will step away from his Managing

duties to assume the Front Office role. Shildt, the 2020 National League Manager of the Year has been successful during his time managing the Cardinals. He was able to bring home a World Series, and Two NL Central Division Titles. "I enjoyed my time in the dugout with my guys. They gave me everything they had. We had some awesome moments that still give me chills. However, I just feel this opportunity is perfect timing for me. I have had a strong desire to test myself with this challenge" said Mike Shildt.


The announcement of the New Cardinals Manager is set to be made in the coming weeks. "We have a couple of guys we are targeting for this seat. It's going to be a decision that is made with complete input from within our Organization" said Owner Bill Dewitt Jr.
