June 2021
Record (13-14)
Top Hitter- C Andrew Knizner

Andrew Knizner hit .333 (24/72) with 10 RBI and 12 Runs scored. The young catcher has earned more playing time of the course of the season. Yadier Molina is still the straw that stirs the drink, but Knizner has shown he has to be in the lineup.
Top Pitcher- SP Jack Flaherty

Jack was solid in June during his 32.1 innings pitched. His 2.78 ERA was backed by his lowest WHIP of the year at 0.80. The opposing hitters had a low .227 BABIP in his five starts for the month.
Team Overview-
June was much like May in that the Cardinals were unable to string together any type of winning streak. The team dropped a bunch of close ball games. You blend that with the combination of the division leading Brewers staying on fire. The separation was created right there. The long-term injury to top hitter Tommy Edman has left a huge void in the lineup.
GM Jonathan Ferguson Thoughts-
"June was another step back. I thought we competed well, but I don't like how we performed in crunch time. It's become somewhat of a theme for this group thus far. It's still early in this marathon, but I don't like the trend being created."
