Wainwright commits to 2022 Season

Adam Wainwright agreed to a one-year contract extension to remain with the Cardinals into the 2022 season. The terms of the deal sit around 1.6M for the year. This was a quick extension to avoid Free Agency. "We will remain committed to Waino for as long as he wants to keep pitching. This organization owes that to Adam", said the Cardinals GM. Wainwright 39, has continued to pitch at a solid level with his shift to bullpen a year ago. He was able to post an ERA in the 3's in that role. In the early 2021 season the veteran has posted 1.35 ERA in 13.1 innings pitched. "I love this Organization. We'll keep this thing going as long as we can", said Wainwright.
